Wizard of Oz: A Pantomime 

For my first project as part of the Production Arts Extended Diploma I designed and made costumes for a pantomime based on the Wizard of Oz. I designed and made two versions of a dress for Dorothy, one in a sepia tone used at the start of the play and one in a vibrant blue when Dorothy arrives in Oz. I created these by following a pattern, backing and gathering fabric. I also created costumes for the three characters 'The Trees' which involved creating cardboard trees which were worn on the actors backs. In addition to this I put together costumes for a range of characters and created costume elements for example creating monkey ears to add to a fez.
